Lug butterfly valves, with their bolted lug connections, are ideal for end-of-line use, often with a blind flange. They come in various designs and are versatile for flow control. Their robust connection minimizes thermal expansion issues, making them suitable for applications with significant temperature variations.
Introduce
The Lug Type Butterfly Valve differs from the Wafer Type by having lugs around its body for bolt connections, making it suitable for end-of-line service with a blind flange recommended. Available in both concentric and eccentric designs, the zero offset lug type is more common, often featuring resilient seats.
Function
Lug-style butterfly valves can be used to open, close and control flow, and their unique end connection design allows them to be used as a stopper, a faucet that discharges at the end of a pipe. Lug-type butterfly valves are more suitable for applications with large temperature differences. Because lug-type butterfly valves are connected to the flanges on both sides by separate and shorter bolts, there is less chance of relaxation due to thermal expansion.
